GSA Supports Historic Green Climate Proposal in Ghana

The Global Shea Alliance is partnering with the Government of Ghana and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to submit an innovative and transformational proposal to the Green Climate Fund (  estimated at 60 million USD to reduce deforestation and related carbon emissions in Northern Ghana. Amongst others, the proposed project will restore shea parklands, reduce the environmental impact of processing, increase women collectors and communities’ incomes, and strengthen the policy environment over a 5-year period. The proposed project will leverage funding from the Green Climate Fund, the Government of Ghana, and private sector.  Please find attached document with the proposal details.
