Field Story: Driving Sustainability Through Stakeholder Engagements

On July 18, 2017, the Global Shea Alliance (GSA) and the National Shea Product Association of Nigeria (NASPAN) held a multi-stakeholder event to identify key national challenges and determine solutions that will ensure long-term sustainability of shea supply. The meeting was attended by over 100 participants from across the shea value chain. The participants developed a 4-year strategy that will construct 40 storage facilities, provide business development trainings to 40,000 women collectors, and plant over 300,000 improved seedlings.

The GSA holds industry stakeholder engagements in shea producing countries each year as part of its commitment to lead sustainability efforts and facilitate public-private partnerships. Click here to register as a GSA member.
