Call for Proposals for the Development of Inclusive Trade for Shea Butter Value Chain
Call for Proposals for the Development of Inclusive Trade for Shea Butter Value Chain
In partnership with the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), the Global Shea Alliance (GSA) is implementing a regional project - Supporting the Inclusive Commercial Development of the Shea Value Chain (PRADCIFK) - in 4 West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Togo.
The project, with funding of $ 3,620,240 over 3 years, is to support local, regional and international market for shea kernels, butter and other high value-added shea-based products.
The PRADCIFK is a response to EIF's vision of supporting Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to take advantage of international trade to enhance the performance of their economies, especially in 3 value chains including:
1. Shea kernels for the local, regional and international market
2. Shea butter for the local, regional and international market
3. Shea-based cosmetic products (including soap) for the local, regional and international market
Through public-private partnerships, the PRADCIFK aims to ensure a better inclusion of women cooperatives involved in kernels collection and butter processing as well as production of shea-based cosmetics products. To achieve that, the PRADCIFK will support the formation of collaboration involving women's cooperatives, MSMEs and industries to explore new market opportunities in Africa and Asia.
If you have any question, please email the PRADCIFK Project Director, Urbain GBEOU, at ngbeou@globalshea.com.
